Thursday, April 11th I headed west towards Kismet, KS to spend some time with my friends Colton and Lauren with an end goal of shooting a truck for a feature article. In route, I spotted tall stacks in front of a Lucas Oil truck and as I reached a passing lane, I was able to see that the truck with the stacks was a Farmers Oil truck. In case you don’t know, Farmers Oil runs some fine equipment and it is always nice to see one of their trucks out on the biggest truck show in the world…the open road. I was able to get far enough past the truck to be able to get off the highway and snap a picture
I arrived in Kismet around dinner time and we were able to go to Liberal for dinner to get some tacos which seems to be an every time occurrance when I visit them.
Friday, April 12th I drove to Garden City, KS which seems to be a hub for livestock haulers as I have never seen so many cattle pots come through one location as I did that day. There is a trailer washout right in town and I was told I would see plenty of livestock haulers since it was Friday and the trucks would be going to the washout. Of the cattle pots I saw that day, I paid attention to one in particular which is the truck I was shooting that day. Stay tuned for the May issue of 10-4 Magazine to see the article and photos on the aforementioned truck.
The day went well and we ended up at various locations. Of course, I never pass up an opportunity to photograph a truck when I can which is what happened with this truck:
I concluded the photo session and headed back to Kismet to join Colton and Lauren along with some of their friends for dinner at Billy’s in Liberal, KS. Upon pulling up in their driveway, Colton had just pulled in after of day of spraying. Since the sun had just started setting and he had his lights on, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to grab a photo. This truck looks just as amazing during the day as it does lit up at night!!
Concluding the adventures, I arrived back home in Missouri Saturday evening April 13th. Stay tuned for the next adventures as I am preparing to head to Wildwood, FL for the 2019 show at 75 Chrome Shop next weekend.
